Founded in 2001, PKF Infuse has grown from a small internal IT function supporting the accountancy firm PKF Smith Cooper into an award-winning managed IT, cloud and cyber security provider with a multi-million pound turnover.
Over the years, one of the core aims of the business has been to deliver the technology support that clients need. To do this, the business has continually expanded its services, growing from IT and Sage support into internet services, cloud, managed support and cyber security, and more recently, AI.
In 2014, the business rebranded from Smith Cooper as Infuse Technology, at a time when many expected the cloud to make IT support redundant. Instead, the team grew. Turnover has increased more than tenfold since 2014, passing £1 million for the first time in 2017 after three consecutive years of significant growth.
In 2015, the team added dedicated security and business process improvement roles, and it now supports clients as part of the PKF Smith Cooper group.
Since then, PKF Infuse has gone from strength to strength, being named in the prestigious MSP501 awards as one of the best manages service providers in the UK several years running, ranking 2nd for the Midlands in 2026.
As the team has grown, it has relocated, moving from Wilmot House to St Helen’s House in 2012, and to its current Pride Park HQ in 2022, where the Infuse team serves more than 150 clients across the UK.
Apprenticeships have been central to the business throughout, with the team typically taking on two apprentices a year. Two of its earliest apprentices, who joined aged 17 and 18 more than a decade ago, are still with the business today.
Paul Howard, Managing Director at PKF Infuse, commented: “25 years is a remarkable milestone to be celebrating and I’m incredibly proud of how far the business has come, and we’re still only just getting started. I would like to thank everyone, past and present, who has shaped the business, and I look forward to the exciting future ahead.
Technology has changed enormously since 2001, but what clients value hasn’t. They want people they can rely on who pick up the phone. We remain committed to relationship-led support as we help clients navigate new challenges such as AI and a rapidly changing cyber security space. I look forward to seeing what we achieve together over the next 25 years.”
